Every summer I've had the pleasure of returning to this amazing place in Upstate New York called the Adirondack Mountains. Since this was my last summer up before I head off to college, this trip was bittersweet.
Being the technology hooked teenager I am, it was hard (as usual) to unplug and get some fresh air. Luckily, we had a bit of a glitch in the wifi this year and I decided to haul my butt off the couch and onto a mountain one lovely day.

Lemme tell you, this mountain was a beast. I am not, by far, a seasoned mountaineer. So ultimately, this may have not been the best choice for a girl who spent most of her summer catching up on her Netflix queue.
In the end, of course it was worth it. Even after my mid-mountain break down, I would have done it all over again, just to feel the quiet mountain around me. This trip definitely gave me the well needed appreciation for nature I was lacking.

Being in the woods, and seeing so much green, and the smell! It was breathtaking. Naturally, I had to take some pictures along the way as a memento.
Luckily, the light was perfect. The sun just peaking through bits of leaves and casting shadows on rocks here and there created a beautiful scene. I've never been so content with having mountain mud caked to my legs.

Going down was the best part. It was all down hill (in a good way). Yes, my thighs were flaming, but I took comfort in knowing the way down would be easier than the way up.
In the end, this was my favorite day of my Adirondacks trip. There's nothing more refreshing than a good nature cleanse.
Stay tuned for Part 2!
